The Republicans continue to fall very short of voter expectations by proposing a paltry $61 billion in spending cuts for the current year fiscal budget, a pathetic 1.7% of the total budget, a budget that has been radically inflated since Obama took office.
Let's look at just how out of control Obama is:
2007 budget deficit $161,000,000,000 (161 billion)
2008 budget deficit $438,000,000,000 (438 billion) George Bush's final year - a staggering disappointment by conservative standards.
2009 budget deficit $1,420,000,000,000 (1.4 trillion) Obama, Pelosi and Reid express begins
2010 budget deficit $1,300,000,000,000 (1.3 trillion) Obama, year 2
2011 budget deficit $1,400,000,000,000 (1.4 trillion) Obama, year 3, estimated
Put into perspective, the federal budget deficit for the MONTH of February 2011 was over $200 billion, substantially larger than the entire annual budget deficit for 2007, in one month!
And the Republicans have proposed cuts of $61 billion? This is national theft on a scale that is incomprehensible. How there is not full blown national revolt is hard to understand. Our current leaders are taking a wrecking ball to our economy - and (some would rightfully argue) our national security - and our primary recourse is to show up on November 2nd, 2012 in an attempt to elect leaders that can actually make a difference.
God help us.
