The rapid expansion of the Federal Government is much of the cause of the economic slowdown in the private sector right now. There is a causal relationship at work. The newly elected Congress needs to be proposing massive reductions in the federal budget, 30-40%, in order to accelerate the expansion of the private sector.
Are you listening Congress!? Stop spending, get the government out of the way and let the free market system work. Reduce government spending down to 1995 levels and I guarantee we will see a rapid expansion in the private sector and a corresponding reduction in the unemployment rate. Big government doesn't work, it is stifling our markets and keeping job creators on the sidelines.
